Strummer

Strummer is a fresh label out of Sydney which pays special attention to originality, quality and timelessness. Designed for the girl who is comfortable in her own skin, Strummer injects class and elegance into youthful femininity. By keeping the colour palette in tune with naturally occurring hues and simple tones, Strummer steers clear of trends and instead defines itself by classic shapes and styles which defy any sense of age.

Created by design duo Edwina Hagon and Gina Cole, the inspiration for each collection begins with the blueprint to a story, and delicate design elements are gradually added as the setting takes shape. Paying special attention to the moods that fashion can evoke, the ladies give each piece a personality, and provide each collection with a soundtrack.

Both Edwina and Gina graduated from East Sydney Tafe and each of them has completed even further education – Edwina a business degree and Gina an advanced pattern-making qualification. They worked separately at a variety of Australia’s leading fashion houses before meeting at one such label in 2008. United by a similar aesthetic, style and taste in music, the two started working on Strummer straight away.

Today the brand is stocked in more than 20 stores around Australia and three internationally, and has been featured in such leading industry bibles as Refinery 29.
