Nearly Nude
Lucy Hosken is taking the lingerie world by its knickers. As founder and designer of Nearly Nude underwear, the former magazine girl has turned her hand to design, creating a range of chic shaping lingerie that is as stylish as it is comfortable. With a slew of celebrity fans and the world's top retailers clamoring for a piece of the pie, her burgeoning business concept is fast becoming an international household name.
"I want to make women look and feel fabulous in whatever they are wearing," says Hosken.
Hosken born and raised in Tasmania spent ten years working on some of Australia's most successful magazine titles including Woman's Day and The Australian Women's Weekly, and during that time nurtured her passion for fashion. Rubbing shoulders with Australia's style elite paid off when Hosken noticed a gap in the market for comfortable, affordable shapewear. She conceptualized her ultimate underwear and after 18 months of honing her vision Nearly Nude was born.
Four years on and the label is going from strength to strength. Celebrities such as Kate Hudson and Stella McCartney were drawn to the brand and it has been featured heavily in Australian and international media.
Nearly Nude shapewear are also becoming a staple for Fashion Editors around the world with US Vogue Director Tonne Goodman ordering her own Nearly Nude prop kit to take to all fashion shoots.
2009 has been a momentous year for Hosken personally and professionally both with the birth of her second child and in breaking into the international market. Hosken signing a lucrative deal with a large US investor in preparation to take on the world later this year, Nearly Nude with be launching across the United States North America and the United Kingdom.
Hosken is currently traveling between New York and Australia. Nearly Nude will be stocked in the worlds luxury boutiques and high street stores. With Spring's body conscious silhouettes taking centre stage, Hosken's philosophy that it's what's inside your clothes that counts is the new fashion mantra.
Lucy Hosken hopes that within 12 months Nearly Nude will be the biggest seamless shapewear label in the United States and Australia.
